Grave of Eleanor Rigby

A friend of mine is going to Britain this summer.  When I told her about the grave of Eleanor Rigby, she said that was a fictional character.

John Lennon and Paul McCartney used to spend time near this church in Liverpool when they were teenagers.  McCartney at first said it was a coincidence, then in later years admitted it was possible this could have influenced him subconsciously.

Wow. I'd heard of this grave but never seen it until today!

Thank you for doing the research on this interesting site. I am sad that my trip to England will not include a trip to Liverpool as this grave would definitely be a must-see. What have you learned about Father MacKenzie?

One of the Beatles went to a church where a Father McKenzie had served but had already passed away, I think. That's viewed as a very tenuous possibility, especially since McKenzie would be a common name.
