Norwescon II —Stalking Terehskova and others

According to Tereshkova 2001’s tweet, she would be at Norwescon.  I hoped to get a picture of her this year.

While I was sitting in a hallway, she happened to walk past.  This supports the theory that if you stay in one place long enough, the whole world will pass by.  And it doesn’t even count as stalking.

I had seen her last year at Worldcon in Reno, and my post from August of last year shows my previous picture of her.  Some resemblance, wouldn’t you say?

In the same hallway, I saw a woman dressed as a fairy.

Obviously, people put a lot of work into their costumes for cosplay (costume play).

Also, Jean Johnson, the author of A Soldier’s Duty, was nominated for the Philip K. Dick award for best new science fiction paperback.  I’ve heard her do public readings before, and she read an excerpt from her book.

Although she didn’t win, she said she’s received correspondence from active duty military of all sorts of ranks telling her how the book resonates with them.

  1. This is so true: If you stay in one place long enough the world will eventually pass you by and it won't even be considered stalking.

I am a new follower to your blog. Thank you for visiting my blog. I responded to your comment on my A to Z challenge post for the letter "F", but in case you don't return to see it I wanted you to know that I did not mean, in any way, any disrespect for the fallen soldiers of the armed forces.

    Here is my response:

My apologies. I did not intend any disrespect to our soldiers, I have the utmost respect and admiration for people who serve and fight for our country.

I am an attorney and my theme is "Random, odd or otherwise normal & common laws and crimes in Louisiana." Since I was a prosecutor for twenty years before switching to criminal defense and I had never once heard of anyone committing this offense, I thought it would make a good topic for the letter, F.

I selected, "Bear Wrestling" for the letter B.

I hope you are not offended. My sincere apologies if you were.

  2. I'm pleased to have run into you again! I was also Princess Leia and Senator Padmé Amidala later in the weekend, for a little variety. I hope your con went well, and maybe I'll see you at Chicon 7. In a different Starfleet uniform that time. :)
